Intrepid Young Adults

Intentional Skills Development

We know that self-exploration and self-awareness are crucial to identity formation for every young adult. Our team is passionate about creating opportunities for individuals to discover who they are, find meaning through connection and experience, and develop a deeper understanding of themselves as they move toward greater autonomy and self-reliance. This work takes shape through intentional coaching in independent living skills, self-advocacy, healthy relationships, executive functioning, and independence — each building on the others to support lasting individuation.

Independent Living Skills

We guide each young adult as they develop practical skills that lead to increasing autonomy and self-reliance. Our team provides coaching in daily living skills, including healthy routines, problem-solving, nutrition and physical activity, and managing a balanced lifestyle. Mastering daily living skills builds self-confidence, executive function, and self-reliance. We know navigating the everyday demands of young adulthood and staying on top of daily responsibilities remains foundational to sustained independence.

Self Advocacy

Self-advocacy is integral to navigating the many aspects of young adult life while forging one’s own path for the future. Our team supports the development of self-advocacy in tangible ways: within daily life, with one’s family, at work, with a professor, and across the broader community. As this skill is mastered, our young adults build the confidence and communication skills they need to represent their own needs and pursue their goals across multiple contexts.

Relationships & Connection

Forging meaningful connections through healthy relationships at work, school, and in the community is crucial to adult life. Learning to navigate the transition into adulthood and toward individuation within one’s family is equally vital. Our team works to help each young adult build relationships that bring meaning, fulfillment, and balance to everyday life, while also exploring opportunities for fun, hobbies, and adventure that deepen friendship and connection through shared experience.

Executive Functioning

Executive functioning skills support a balanced, organized, and goal-oriented approach to daily life. We help identify these skills and develop strategies that directly and positively impact each young adult’s ability to achieve their goals, build self-reliance, and manage the competing demands of life.

Independence

Independence is the ability to navigate opportunities and face challenges while knowing when to rely on one’s own abilities and when to seek support. We center our approach on healthy routines, executive functioning, and daily living skills that build independence in clear, tangible ways, helping each young adult find the right balance between self-reliance and knowing when to reach out for help. This foundation bolsters autonomy without the risk of isolation or getting stuck on one’s own.
